I actually am not part of testing anymore, I have pulled that figure out speculation and estimation on plausible (comparing it to PVE) comparisons.

Knowing they would probably make it 2x longer then PVE is where I get that number.

Huh? I suggested that you take a break from the game till at least next wednesday. You are expressing concern and frustration at parts of the game that ArenaNet have already stated they will address in the next patch. The best thing to do would be to first wait and see what they do with the current situation, and then complain about how you don't like it. What is it that I am not comprehending?

I don't agree with the way this was posted, but I do agree on some points... mainly the fact that, honestly, they're not doing much to reduce the grind. The fact of the matter is, having to play through the PvE portion more than once is insanely tedious. Granted, the grind is significantly less than in a game such as FFXI, but it's still there and it's very noticeable.
Also, this doesn't seem like a game that you can just pick up from the store and play in PvP. They make it seem like that, but honestly, their selection of pre-made PvP characters is very small and many don't really serve much purpose in the Tombs.
Then again, what do I know? I'm just posting my thoughts.

ArenaNet has helped reduce grind by introducing the Rune Trader and Rare Material Trader. Here's an example of how it helped. Before then, people have sold and paid atleast 100k gold for Superior Vigor Runes. Now that the vendors sell it for about that much, people sell it for a bit less 65-85k so that leads others to buy it from players instead of the NPC Trader.

I have read stories about others who have won PvP rounds or even reach the Hall of Heroes with premade or custom PvP characters. So in contrary to your statement, I do think they serve some purpose.

Granted, there are people who can use the pre-made setups effectively, but that still doesn't mean anyone will be able to just pick up this game and play in the tombs.
For the record, I put my emphasis on the Tombs because that seems to be where the most fun in the game is; the other arenas limit you to 4 players.
And, yeah, the rune traders did help tremendously, but what I'm talking about is getting skills... you either grind your ass off and get xp for skill points, or play through the game again as the class whose skills you are looking to unlock. Both are pretty annoying.
I'm not saying the game is horrible, because I still play it and have a lot of fun, I'm just pointing out some things that bug me and could be worked on.

"The huge ammount of customers they could have had where lost, the ones they have now will not be buying the expansion. Anet's reputation for actually delivering products that follow advertisement and box info is completely sullied in most eyes, and the HARDCORE gamers create word of mouth."

I love such opinions, based on facts and statistics, where you can clearly see how many people have left and how many won't buy expansion... Wait, where exactly are those numbers? So, just because you and your IG friends quit it's suddenly majority? Plus it's only natural people want to take a break after playing game for some time - which doesn't mean they dislike the game, they simply want to play something else.

You mind if I paraphrase?
"I pulled this crap out of my ass and decided to share it with you all"

Thanks alot, but next time... Keep your crap to yourself.

And as far as this being a flame: You post a flame-baiting thread, trying pathetically to insult everyone on the forum, and guess what you get?

I stopped reading after this. You don't have a clue, obviously, about CS:S, let alone Counter-Strike period. You, sir, are not smart. This means YOU.

What dac is trying to say is that, People who do the beta test are telling him how stupid it's going to be.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...ame%22&spell=1

Look at that nice juicy false advertising, thousands of pages of crap that arenanet made sure we'd read before the game was released. Thanks for stealing our money Arenanet.

Oh gaile my fissure armor looks the same as the normal armor!

Oh well you know what we're fixing it in a patch or two, don't you worry!

----

Oh gaile the icon for Ale is messed up, and it's 100 gold extra, what ever shall we do! Ale is so important!

Oh well don't you worry, we'll fix that tomorrow, Ale being expensive and not having an icon? I won't stand for it!

----

Gaile there's some serious PvP Issues that need to be fixed

You're completely right, instead of spending a couple days getting to level 60 in WoW, we have to spend months pacing our self in the glass-eating PvE, grinding for skill points before we can get to the "strategically interesting" part of the game.

- Oh well don't you worry, we'll be releasing a big-ass patch that will introduce the concept of PvP rewards and will greatly affect the pvp people, putting all the other small patches to shame.
edited for correctness.

As dac stated, it's going to take countless hours to unlock things through PvP quests. That is if he is right, In which case, everyone who's quit, won't come back, and everyone who's still playing will eventually quit.

Do you see this kind of ---- for other games smart one? Huge false advertising? Do you think we post because it's just a load of _fun_ to complain about how we were robbed 50 dollars. Do you think the people who strike do it because they have nothing better to do and like being unemployed? Or because they'd like ---- to be the way it should be, and they don't like getting ----ed in the ----.

I see complaining going on everywhere. Name an RPG and I'll point you to a forum that is full of whiners and whatnot. Hell, go on the WoW forums, there's nothing but complaints there. SWG? I once visited their forums and never dared to go back. People just love to complain.

Do you really expect your words to do anything? If so, you'd better get something else to do because it won't. Why waste your life with something that YOU believe isn't worth your time? Some of us actually WANT to play, so stop wasting your time with making comments about "Oh its bad" "Oh I don't like that". Well some of us do, and those who don't, theres always an option of leaving

I'm too tired at the moment to write my own, original post, so I'll just quote everything that I agree with from the original post:

4. the game is unbalanced, designed that way (PvE rewards your PVP skill)

5. The PVP maps offer no replayability just repitition, They have added nothing in the way of PVP offerings since 2 years ago in E34E, besides GVG.

6. The PvE is not replayable unless you have really low standards for games.

7. The huge ammount of customers they could have had where lost, the ones they have now will not be buying the expansion. Anet's reputation for actually delivering products that follow advertisement and box info is completely sullied in most eyes, and the HARDCORE gamers create word of mouth.
I wonder how long before fans pile into mmorpg.com and start changing their votes from 10 to 1...

I, for one, completely enjoy the game and its updates. Maybe I am part of a hugely small minority and am in the dark as to the true feelings of the vast majority of players. Or maybe you are.
